Stark Future has taken its electric supermoto in a darker direction with the VARG SM Sköll, a numbered special edition that combines an all-black finish, 80 horsepower and titanium components. Only 500 examples were planned worldwide, making it one of the more exclusive versions of the company's road-legal VARG platform.
But exclusivity quickly became more than a marketing promise. The entire production run reportedly sold out in less than 48 hours after orders opened in September, and Stark has confirmed that it will not build a second batch.
For riders who appreciate unusual engineering and aggressive styling, the Sköll is a striking example of how electric motorcycles are developing their own performance identity.

A blacked-out look with a purpose
The Sköll name comes from Norse mythology, where a wolf pursues the sun. Stark has carried that theme into the motorcycle's appearance, giving the special edition a deep-black treatment across virtually every suitable component.
This goes beyond a conventional black paint option. Components receive black finishes through methods including anodizing and powder coating, with the treatment extending to the triple clamps, swingarm, motor housing, inverter casing and other details.
The black-anodized triple clamps feature limited-edition engraving, while the motorcycle's Simil-Alcantara seat adds another distinctive touch.
One detail deliberately breaks up the dark finish: the gold chain, which contrasts with the black rear sprocket and surrounding hardware.
80 horsepower from an electric supermoto
The Sköll uses the full ALPHA specification of the existing VARG SM platform, delivering a claimed 80 hp alongside adjustable Dynamic Traction Control.

Its powertrain is built around a structural 7.2kWh battery and a single-speed electric drivetrain. There is no conventional multi-gear transmission or clutch to operate, allowing the rider to focus on acceleration, braking and line choice.
Stark quotes 674 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheel. This is a wheel-torque figure rather than a direct comparison with the crankshaft torque figures commonly published for combustion motorcycles.
The package is designed to provide immediate electric response in a lightweight, road-legal supermoto format. As with any high-output motorcycle, the available power makes appropriate rider training and careful use of the electronic controls important.
Titanium parts trim the weight
The Sköll is not simply a cosmetic special edition. Stark has replaced selected components with titanium alternatives to reduce mass.
The changes include:
3D-printed titanium footpegs, saving approximately 140 grams.
A complete titanium bolt kit, saving a further 900 grams.
A combined claimed weight reduction of approximately 1.1kg.
Stark lists the Sköll at a claimed 123.4kg, compared with 124.5kg for the standard VARG SM. That makes the limited edition the lightest VARG SM produced by the company at launch.
The reduction is modest in absolute terms, but it fits the Sköll's character: a premium, carefully specified version of an already lightweight electric motorcycle.
Chassis, suspension and road equipment
The underlying platform remains familiar, retaining the steel frame, carbon-fibre front subframe and integrated battery architecture of the standard VARG SM.
The Sköll also features fully adjustable supermoto-spec suspension, Brembo braking hardware and Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres. These components help distinguish it from an off-road-focused electric machine, with the SM configuration intended for paved riding.

Its electronic features include adjustable traction control and the Arkenstone display system, which supports navigation, GPX functions, lap and session timing, and other riding information.
The motorcycle is road-legal in approved markets, although registration, licensing and equipment requirements depend on the country and local regulations.
Price and availability: the 500 are gone
The Sköll was announced as a numbered worldwide production run of just 500 motorcycles, with no second edition planned.
At launch, the listed prices included:
Market | Announced price |
United States | $14,990 |
United Kingdom | £12,990 |
Europe | €14,990 |
Prices, taxes and availability can vary by market.
For prospective buyers, however, the main issue is availability. Reports following the launch confirmed that all 500 units had been claimed in under 48 hours. Stark subsequently said it would not produce another Sköll run, instead directing riders who missed out toward its dealer network and the standard VARG SM.
That leaves the Sköll with a clear identity: not a new platform, but a limited, blacked-out interpretation of an electric supermoto that already delivers substantial performance.
What the Sköll says about electric motorcycles
The VARG SM Sköll illustrates a growing trend in electric motorcycling. As manufacturers develop dedicated platforms, special editions are beginning to focus on styling, materials, electronics and exclusivity rather than engine capacity or exhaust design.

The Sköll's appeal is easy to understand: 80 hp, a claimed weight of 123.4kg, titanium hardware and an unusually comprehensive black finish. Its rapid sellout suggests that a limited electric motorcycle can generate substantial interest when it combines distinctive design with serious performance.
For riders who missed the 500-unit run, the standard VARG SM remains the closest alternative, sharing the core platform and powertrain. The Sköll itself, however, is now a closed chapter in Stark's production plans.
