Honda Unveils 30th Anniversary Fireblade SP John McGuinness Limited Edition

Honda has turned three decades of John McGuinness at the Isle of Man TT into one seriously exclusive Fireblade.

The Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP JM 30th Anniversary is a road-legal tribute to one of the most successful riders in TT history—and with just 15 examples planned worldwide, it is destined to become a collector's motorcycle almost as soon as it leaves the showroom.

Honda UK unveiled the limited-edition machine on August 25, 2026, at the John McGuinness exhibition in the Classic TT paddock. The motorcycle recreates the Fireblade raced by McGuinness during the 2026 Isle of Man TT, while its graphics also pay tribute to where his TT career began.

Thirty Years of John McGuinness at the TT

McGuinness made his first Isle of Man TT appearance in 1996 aboard a Honda RS250. Thirty years later, Honda Racing celebrated that remarkable milestone with a Fireblade livery inspired by the machine from his debut season.

The connection is particularly noticeable in the distinctive red bodywork and green number boards. Rather than simply creating another modern race replica, Honda has used details from the beginning of McGuinness' TT story to give the 2026 Fireblade genuine historical significance.

McGuinness has since become synonymous with Honda and the TT, collecting 23 TT victories during a career that has made him one of the event's defining road racers.

A Fireblade SP Built for Collectors

Underneath the special graphics is Honda's top-specification CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP.

The 999cc liquid-cooled inline-four produces 214 horsepower, while the motorcycle incorporates technology and engineering developed with Honda's racing programs. It also features HRC-developed aerodynamics, a six-axis IMU, a swingarm derived from the RC213V-S and an Akrapovic-developed titanium exhaust.

The John McGuinness edition adds its own collection of exclusive equipment, including:

  • Full 2026 TT Race Replica livery

  • Individually numbered headstock plaque

  • Honda Genuine tall screen

  • Rear seat cowl

  • HRC oil filler cap

  • GB Racing engine and clutch covers

  • Evotech radiator guard

  • Evotech brake lever guard

  • Evotech paddock stand bobbins

  • Metzeler tyres, with the original factory tyres supplied as spares

That combination makes this much more than a paint-and-sticker special. Honda has created a motorcycle that combines the standard Fireblade SP's serious performance hardware with a very specific piece of McGuinness racing history.

Only 15 Will Be Built

The biggest headline, however, may be the production number.

Honda UK will produce just 15 examples of the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP JM 30th Anniversary. Each motorcycle receives its own numbered plaque, and purchases are being handled by invitation.

The UK retail price is listed at £37,730, making this a significant premium over a standard Fireblade SP—but rarity is clearly part of the appeal.

And Honda isn't stopping at the motorcycle.

Each owner receives a signed John McGuinness replica KYT helmet, a custom garage mat and a Gee-Tech rear paddock stand featuring the 30th Anniversary logo. Owners will also be invited to an exclusive handover event on the Isle of Man, where they can meet McGuinness personally.

For those wanting the ultimate experience, Honda is also offering the opportunity to ride the 37¾-mile TT Mountain Course with McGuinness himself.

A Fireblade With a Story

Special-edition motorcycles are often about adding exclusive colors, accessories and badges to an existing model. The John McGuinness Fireblade has something more valuable: a story that is directly connected to the machine.

The 2026 Fireblade celebrates McGuinness' 30th year at the TT while simultaneously looking back to his first appearance in 1996. That gives the red-and-green livery a meaning that goes well beyond nostalgia.

For Honda, it is another chapter in the long relationship between the Fireblade and the Isle of Man TT. For collectors, the combination of a 214-hp Fireblade SP, genuine race-replica specification and a production run of only 15 motorcycles makes this one of the most exclusive Fireblades yet.

And for anyone fortunate enough to own one, the chance to ride the TT course alongside John McGuinness could ultimately be just as memorable as the motorcycle itself.
